Holistic Personal Training

A comprehensive system of training, combining age-old wisdom practices with contemporary workout approaches, to create a harmonious balanced experience that nourishes mind, body and spirit.

We exist in the body, a scaffold of bones, housing our most vulnerable parts in safety. The connectivity of these parts intricately participate together to create a dance that brings breath into our bodies, beating in our hearts, colour to our flesh, and consciousness into our being. These are the raw materials in the complexity of our existence.

We are in the body and therefore we have an anchor to the now. It can be brutal or beautiful but regardless it is the only place we can influence our own story.

It is for this reason that my work is rooted in the canvas of the body. Mending broken connections, defining and refining the space we inhabit and reshaping our relationship to our physical and physiological imbalances. Instead of approaching ourselves with a fix-it mentality, those imbalances can serve as a means of refining the relationship with our unique selves.

Building physical connections facilitates a greater capacity for now. More presence of now means more ability to respond. More responsiveness creates less resistance. Less resistance unlocks more energy, freedom & vitality- this leads to more capacity which leads to expansion, possibility and growth.

Yoga and the expansive collection of ancient wisdom techniques have become invaluable tools for understanding the holistic relationship between our physical, mental and energetic bodies. What science now teaches us about optimal health, yogic texts and practices have held such wisdoms for centuries offering practical and effective ways to abide in a state of contented wellness.

For the past 20 years Rachel has facilitated yoga, meditation and breathwork practices in both group and private capacities. She continues to integrate this work in her programs with clients. Teaching the foundation of breath, flow and mindful movement through yoga and her other training modalities.

Pilates principles play a pivotal role in cultivating a strong connection to both physical and energetic centers, facilitating the realignment and rebalancing of lifestyle-induced imbalances.

Rachel is a fully comprehensive trained pilates instructor and works with a range of pilates equipment including reformer, chair and tower as part of her comprehensive bespoke programming with clients.

The mind can be a powerful tool or a debilitating obstacle. It can also be a root cause of imbalance, injury and illness within the body. Mental patterns have the capacity to grow into physical patterns, therefore endeavouring to change appearance, performance and capacity of the body also requires simultaneous reconditioning of the mind. Without this holistic approach, physiological patterns remain and long lasting results are much harder to obtain.

Rachels coaching style is informed by her years of experience with the IFS therapeutic model alongside her study of western and eastern psycho-spiritual methodologies. Rachel integrates a range of tools into her training sessions to optimize each client’s potential in each session and throughout the journey to achieving their most valued wellbeing goals.

About Rachel

Former professional dancer, Rachel began her movement fascination from a very young age. Her passion grew into a successful dance career in the bright lights of the Big Apple and this is where she also discovered her love of yoga and pilates.

Rachel’s first trainings took her to the backwaters of India, where she spent time immersed in ashram life. Here she continued her exploration of eastern wisdom practices and the study of the subtle bodies. Since then she has been facilitating these connections for others.
